Bitter Springs

The Bitter Springs are located approximately two kilometres from Mataranka in the Katherine region.

Set amongst palms and tropical woodlands in Elsey National Park, these spring-fed thermal pools are an ideal place to relax and unwind after a long drive, or while exploring the national park.

There is a short 500m loop walk available at Bitter Springs.

The Springs are closed during the rainy season because of flooding, please check ahead before visiting during the period November to May.

Entry cost

  • Indicative Prices tickets from $10.00 to $60.00
    Park entry fees - Parks Pass applies. (NT residents exempt). Camping and extended walk fees apply to all visitors.
  • Child tickets from $5.00 to $30.00
    Park entry fees - Parks Pass applies. (NT residents exempt). Camping and extended walk fees apply to all visitors.
